About Me

My journey into design began with a crayon in hand, turning walls into my first canvas. This early passion for art led me to formal studies at the School of the Art Institute, where a course in Visual Communication piqued my curiosity about the digital realm. After college, I embarked on a career in design, contributing to firms and startups like uBid.

During the dot-com era, I found myself questioning not just the aesthetics but the purpose behind designs: Why are we doing this, and for whom? This introspection steered me toward Information Architecture, where I focused on creating structures that developers and business stakeholders could understand and that resonated with end-users. Over time, this path naturally evolved into a broader exploration of user experience, strategy, research, and everything in between.

Recently, I've rekindled my love for drawing by creating pet portraits. This return to hands-on artistry allows me to connect with individuals on a personal level, celebrating the unique bond between people and their pets through custom artwork.

Leadership & Design Philosophy

Designing with Clarity, Leading with Empathy

I believe the best design leaders don't just guide products — they cultivate environments where great design can happen. My leadership style blends systems thinking, user advocacy, and cross-functional alignment to move ideas from ambiguity to impact.

What I Bring to Teams

  • Vision + Execution: I bridge high-level product strategy with day-to-day design work, ensuring the user experience aligns with business outcomes.

  • Coaching & Mentorship: I’ve built and led design teams, mentored junior and senior designers, and shaped design cultures grounded in psychological safety and growth.

  • Cross-functional Fluency: I thrive in deeply collaborative environments, partnering closely with product, engineering, research, and business stakeholders.

  • Design Ops & Process: I implement scalable practices — from research repositories to design systems — to drive consistency and velocity across teams.

My Principles

  • Lead with curiosity: Ask better questions before offering solutions.

  • Design for complexity, deliver simplicity: Great UX distills the essential, not the obvious.

  • People over process: Frameworks are helpful; relationships move teams forward.

  • Outcomes over outputs: Design isn’t done at handoff — it's done when users succeed.
